. If you are interested in partying all night long, this is not the best island to choose as there is very little night life. However, it is well suited for those who want to spend their time sunbathing and swimming, snorkeling, sailing or fishing or just doing nothing at all but taking in the sights.
The weather on Grenada consists of a wet season and a dry season. January to May is the best time of year if you want to avoid getting caught in the rain, but even during the rainy season, the rain doesnt last for long it just rains for a short time every day. There is very little humidity due to the trade winds and the temperature tends to average about 80 degrees all year long.
What to do and see on Grenada
Watersports reign supreme on Grenada whether you want to indulge in deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling or swimming. Sailing is very popular with two large party boats operating out of the harbor of St. Georges. This is one of the best destinations in the Caribbean to enjoy hiking with the lushness and beauty the island has to offer. Walk the trails of the Grand Etang National Park and Forest Reserve where you will enjoy panoramic views and glimpses of the native wildlife.

You do have to visit the rainforest when you visit Grenada to make your honeymoon that much more special. Here you will find all kinds of spices for which the island gets its name and reputation. Levera National Park is another must-see on the island where there are several exceptional beaches.
Any evening entertainment that exists on Grenada takes place at the hotels and resorts. There is no casino on the island, but the bands playing at the hotels provide a wide range of choices in music and types of dancing.
Where to stay on Grenada
The range of accommodations available on Grenada is bound to meet the needs, interest and budget of all visitors. Chances are you may want to splurge a little when you are on your honeymoon, but you can still stay in a modern hotel, a small intimate inn or rent a kitchenette apartment.
The Bel Air Plantation is often the choice of newly married couples because of the sense of seclusion that it offers. It almost looks as if it sprang out of the jungle because the architecture is so in tune with the environment. Look out over St. Davids harbor or stroll through the tropical gardens that surround all the accommodations. Each individual unit is furnished with your comfort in mind. The complex is built around a waterfront village and contains a restaurant, bar, grocery store, deli, art gallery and gift store. There is also an outdoor pool and kayak rental. Prices range from $300 for a cottage to $600 for a two-bedroom villa in the tourist season.
Another of the popular hotels among honeymooners to Grenada is the Calabash. This hotel is set on 7 acres of beach and is very posh when compared to other types of accommodations on the island. There are 8 suites with private plunge pools and 22 suites with whirlpool baths. Bathrooms are spacious and rooms have verandas from which you can take in the fantastic view. At this location, a suite will cost you almost $900, but this is almost cut in half in the off-season.

The Boatyard is located overlooking the marina and is one dining venue where you can enjoy international cuisine. French and Creole is the specialty of the house at the Coconut Beach Restaurant, while West Indian cuisine is the main fare offered at La Belle Creole. If you have a craving for Italian cuisine, then head to La Dolce Vita or Laluna. Taste the fresh seafood of the day at Olivers Restaurant or at the Aquarium Beach Club and Restaurant where you certainly wont be disappointed with the serving you receive.
However, if you want to sample the traditional food of Grenada, there is a little diner in St. Georges named Deynas Tasty Food. Here you can feast on stewed fish and the national dish of the island a dish made with salt meat, breadfruit and coconut milk.
