Guide To Prevent Your House From Squatters

It may happen that you may have shifted to a new place but you still have your old place with you and no one is living over there

. Otherwise it is an excellent thing that you have added on a property in your name but one fear always pokes your mind, i.e. the fear of squatter. The squatters have grown tremendously in the recent times and as an approximate estimation, they are around 40,000 in number in the UK. This figure is continuously increasing since 1970s and the major reason for it is credited to unemployment. It has been also estimated that this number will continuously increase but there are several measures to stop your property from squatters:-

Squatters cannot be thrown out of the property by being physical with them. It is against the laws. Looks strange that a stranger is lives illegally at your place and still you cant easily move him out of the place however law states that the only way you can move such a person out of the place or in short words carry out squatter eviction is by having the court possession order. Everyone knows that getting a court order requires considerable amount of time. In such a case the best thing to avoid from a squatter from occupying your hard earned space is by keeping your place locked up properly. One can also use the security doors if he or she has to leave the space from considerable amount of time.

The other way to prevent the strangers to occupy your space is by making it look like it is occupied. This can be done by having curtains, furniture as well as carpets that reveal that someone is still living in the place. Along with it also make sure that if there are any deformities in the house like broken window or pipe get it repaired before leaving so as to make the strangers believe that the place is not empty. The same thing should be done even with the gardens by cutting them properly.

For the vacant property security make sure you involve the neighbours, local people as well as the police and tell them that the space which you own is now unoccupied. By doing so, you give them the importance and the responsibility of taking care of your empty space. Any intrusion by the stranger would be caught off easily by these well informed people.

The most intelligent thing to do when you have decided to move to some other place is to rent out the older space rather than leaving it empty. It is beneficial both from security point of view as well as economical point of view. Keeping tenants would assure you an additional fixed monthly income as well as make sure that these tenants will take care of your space also.

So next time when you decide to move out to a newer place, make sure you keep the above mentioned points in mind to have a smooth life ahead.
