Guide to Deal with Oily Hair

Oily hair is a dilemma many of us have to deal with on a daily basis

. It is very annoying when you wash and style your hair in the morning only to have it all greasy by night. Also, oily hair has a tendency to look unclean and limp, which gives off a very unhealthy look. If you have oily hair and wish to overcome this problem, then these steps will be very helpful.

The first thing to remember is that over washing your hair will not make it less oily, rather it makes your scalp produce even more oil. So use a gentle shampoo for oily hair and wash your hair every day or every other day. Do not use conditioner on the roots and only apply it to the ends of your hair. Make sure to rinse thoroughly so that there is no residue remaining in your hair. You should also use a good clarifying shampoo twice a week to get rid of oil buildup in your hair.

One step that will make a big difference is to change your diet. Try not to consume oily and fatty foods as they only make your body produce more oil which in turn leads to oily hair. Eat healthy and make sure you consume enough fruits and vegetables and you will really notice a change in your hair. Just remember, the more oil you consume, the oilier your hair will get.

It is also important to drink enough water on a daily basis. This helps control excessive oiliness and keeps your scalp healthy. Drink at least eight glasses of water a day. This will help you body in getting rid of oil producing toxins that can build up in your hair.

There are also some home remedies you can try for oily hair. Lemon juice is great for oily hair and keeps your scalp and hair fresh for hours. Dilute some lemon juice in water and rinse your hair with it after you are done with shampooing and conditioning. It will control oiliness and add shine to your hair. The same can be done with apple cider vinegar as both are great natural remedies for oily hair.
