For a plasma TV, the first things to be considered while making a choice for buying a TV stand is the type and size of the TV set. If it is a simple 19 inches or 22 inches, a simple stand with a shelf will do good. But if it is a gargantuan more than fifty inches television then TV stand has to be made sure of size bigger enough to handle the size and weight of the TV set. The next thing is the rest of the part of the AV kit bought to accessories the TV, that is, the DVD players, the cable boxes etc. as to where to store them. Though the shelves of the TV stand furniture are made keeping in mind the standard size and shapes of the accessories available in the market, but still it is advisable to measure before buying.
