Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

Everyone loves thick growth of hair, but due to some reason this growth is hampered

and various problems like premature ageing of hair, dandruff, hair loss or dry hair occur. Out of all these hair loss is the most undesirable occurrence. Human hair naturally grows in three phases: anagen, catagen, and Telogen.

Anagen is the active or growing phase. Catagen is a fairly short phase of the natural hair cycle during which hairs begin to break down. Telogen is the resting phase. The hairs that are shed daily are often in the resting or late phase in the hair cycle. Normally, about 10% of the scalp hairs are in the resting or Telogen phase at any time. These hairs are not growing and are getting prepared for cyclic shedding. There are different reasons for hair loss such as:

Hair loss mostly is a result of predetermined genetic factors, family history, and the overall aging process. Many men and women may notice a mild and often normal physiologic thinning of hair starting in their thirties and forties.

Increase in stress level, thyroid disease or iron deficiency can also lead to hair loss.

Hormonal changes in body during child birth or due to intake of birth control pills can also cause hair loss.

Various skin diseases like ringworm infection on scalp can also lead to hair fall.

Medicines used for gout, arthritis, depression, heart problems, high blood pressure, or blood thinner. High doses of vitamin A may also cause hair shedding.

Chronic illness or some major surgery can also cause hair loss. Even hair transplant surgeries lead to hair loss causing additional hair loss or "shock fallout". Hairs lost from shock fallout usually don't regrow

Even continuous change in hair products like shampoos, hair creams, gels etc. can cause your healthy hair to fall resulting hair loss. All such hair loss requires a proper medication and a good dermatologist should be consulted.

Another hair problem that causes headache in women is dry hair problem. Dryness of scalp due to some reason may lead to dry hair. Having dry and frizzy hair is awful. Some reason causing this are:

Overexposure to sun and wind. Try to use hat or scarf before going in sun to avoid dry hair

Swimming in a pool containing chlorinated water. Use something to cover your hair. Tie them up in a bun before going into the pool

Hair treatments using perm chemicals, peroxide bleach, color developer, and hair relaxer chemicals. This can lead to uncontrollably frizzy hair or damaged hair.

Using strong shampoos as they remove natural oil from scalp even causing dandruff. Try mild natural shampoo and dont forget to condition them after shampooing.

The use of hard water for bathing can cause dry hair & dry scalp. Avoid it as hard water can also cause scalp eczema and hair loss.

Conditioning your hair with a good conditioner or natural oils can help to eradicate the problem and will give you long healthy hair.
