When entering the field of pharmaceuticals, you will be entering into the world of a career with a number of rewards. The career of pharmacist will have you dispensing medications that a doctor has written for the patient to take. You will need to have confidence in order to successfully enter into this career. You need to have the confidence when dispensing the prescriptions so that in the case where the bottles have been mixed up or something has caused the medications to not be in the right spot, that you know what those medications are and will be able to still dispense them to the patient.
A patient is going to be looking to you for guidance when they are going to be starting a new medication. The new medication will have them being nervous at first with the idea of experiencing a number of side effects. What you need when it comes to encouraging the patient is confidence. The confidence comes into the picture by reassuring the patient that in most cases, the patients didn't report any side effects. However; there is a small portion of the population who might be more sensitive to the side effects and that these are the patients that reported having a problem such as be nauseous when taking the medication.
When the patient is concerned about the side effects and how they will feel when on the medication, tell them that in most cases the side effects are worth the risk when taking the medication as opposed to not taking the medication. The doctor should not and in most cases, will not give a medication unless they feel that the patient needs this medication. In some cases, the doctor is not completely sure if the medication will help but will be worth giving it a shot if it will make you feel better and feel more at ease.

You will be working closely with the patients and therefore, you will want to make sure that you are showing that you have confidence when dealing with these patients so that they do not return to the doctors office being unsure of the medication that they are taking and this can be especially true when a patient is coming to you seeking help with over the counter medications.
