Mass Production is a funk group from Virginia. They didn't have that much successful singles but "Firecracker" is a real jewel. It was particularly to mention this song in this list because it is commonly misattributed to an other funk band called Brass Construction.

Dazz band is a pretty famous band. As a matter of fact, "Let it whip" won a Grammy award. It was even featured in the video game Gta San Andreas However, when I talk about this song it seems that less and less people know it. It's a shame. This hit is a really enjoyable and danceable tune.

Fatback Band - "Backstrokin'"

Backstrockin' was sampled by various rappers over the years. Successful artists like Dj Quik or Dr Dre used it to produce some major hits. Somehow, the original seems to have been forgotten. However, if you listen to it you'll realize that this song was really powerful.

Rick James Teena Marie I'm just a sucker for your love

Rick James is famous worldwide for his fit called "Superfreak". But there are a lot songs of Rick James that are really underrated. The same could be said about Teena Marie. A lot of people know the song called "Oh la la" by the Fugees but don't know the original version of the song by Teena Marie. You should listen to this song because it is very funky and unites the two artists.
