People use oil in many ways. It can be used to heat homes and various establishments. On the other hand, it can be used to fuel trucks, ships, and cars. Its most common purpose for people is its use as a source of fuel for furnaces in houses and establishments. Many people use heating oil to heat their homes and their business establishments. Because of this, a lot of companies are producing oil furnaces that provide a high level of heating performance in people's houses. These companies are developing furnaces that can meet the demands of their consumers and that can be able to adapt to the changing weather patterns and temperature levels.

Before purchasing a furnace, a person must be able to determine the type of furnace that is needed in his or her house. There are various kinds of furnaces that a person can choose from. He or she can decide on buying a central warm-air furnace, a steam or hot-water system, a heat pump, a floor or wall furnace, a built-in electric unit, a heating stove, or other types of furnaces. After choosing the type of furnace, he or she will then choose the kind of fuel that will power up his or her furnace. There are a lot of fuel sources that a person can choose from; however, the most common of these fuel sources are gas, oil, and electricity. Gas furnace prices, heating oil furnace prices, and electric furnace prices vary according to their level of efficiency. Moreover, their prices vary depending on the company which produced a furnace. Among the three types of fuel sources, it is known that gas and heating oil prices are cheaper than electricity. Gas is considered to be the cheapest form of fuel; however, a gas furnace is usually more costly to built and install. On the other hand, electric furnace installation is relatively the same as the price of a gas furnace installation and its heat is considered to be the safest form of heat for it has not combustion and fuel hazards. Heating oil furnaces are less expensive to build compared to the former two furnaces; however, fuel oil is very expensive compared to gas and electricity.

The prices of the fuel source of furnaces may still vary depending on the location of the house or establishment that one has. A place may offer a cheaper price of gas while another place may offer cheaper heating oil prices.
