Hepsera (Adefovir) is an anti-viral medication this medication helps in preventing the infectious cells from spreading or multiplying into new infected cells. This medication is used in the treatment of hepatitis B in the adults. It does not cure the hepatitis but this medication helps in preventing the hepatitis.This medication may also be used in the treatment of HIV.
How should I take this medication?
Hepsera drug should be taken as it is prescribed by the doctor. As this medicine might also be used in other treatment, do not use it without consulting your doctor first. Consult the doctor whether or not the medication is performing well. Check the direction given in the label of the medication. This medication can be taken after having food or without having food. Do not skip the medication, make a regular timing for taking this medicine and if you forget to take this medication, take it immediately if there is time for your regular schedule. What are the possible side effects of using this drug?
Hepsera 10mg may cause side effects such as decrease in urine while urinating, weak feeling, lack of feeling, coldness, breathing problem, increase or decrease of heart beat rate and unconsciousness. It may also cause stomach problem, mild fever, lack or decrease of appetite, change of color of urine of stools and change of skin or eye color in yellow (jaundice). Hepsera may also induce allergic reactions like hives, breathlessness, swelling on face, lips, tongue, and throat. It may make the mouth go dry, induce drowsiness and light headedness. Patient may feel weak, irritable and experience muscle pain. As it makes the skin more sensitive, the patient gets bruised easily, blisters and peeling of skin rash. Beside this it may also cause slight nausea problem, diarrhea problem, formation of gas, itchy feeling and head pain.
What precautions do I need to follow while using Hepsera?
The patient should consult the doctor before using other medication such as Amphotec, Fungilin, Fungisome, Amphocil, Amphotec, Bactrim, Septrin, Septra, Streptomyces capreolus antibiotic, Rifadin, Vancocin, Zovir, Vistide, Proleukin, carmustine, Sandimmune, etodolac, Hivid, Zerit, Viread, Retrovir, Atripla, Combivir, Epzicom, Trizivir or Truvada.
Hepsera generic is a birth controlling pill so if you want to get pregnant do not use this medication or it will cause birth defect to the unborn child.Make sure you also let your doctor know and consult the doctor if you are nursing patient before using this medication as it is not known whether it harm the nursed child or not.
