Hilton Worldwide Announces Plans To Open Two New Morocco Hotels In Tangier

Hilton Worldwide has signed an agreement with Inveravante Group to open two new upscale hotels in Tangier, Morocco.

The agreement was signed during a ceremony in front of the Minister of Tourism for Morocco, Lahcen Haddad, and the new properties are expected to open for Morocco holidays in December 2014 and spring 2015.

Hilton Tanger City Centre Hotel & Residences and Hilton Garden Inn Tanger City Centre will form part of a new, upscale, mixed-use development area in Tangier called Tanger City Centre.

The Senior Vice President of Development for Hilton Worldwide, Europe & Africa, Patrick Fitzgibbon, explained: Tangier is a superb destination and I am delighted we are making our debut with two of our most recognised brands. Todays announcement will act as our springboard for further growth in Morocco as we embark on an expansion strategy to introduce new properties and brands in key markets across the country.

Tourists taking holidays in Morocco and staying at the Hilton Tanger City Centre Hotel & Residences can enjoy luxurious accommodation in 182 guest rooms that include 19 lavish suites and 68 hotel apartments. Scheduled to open in 2015, the Morocco hotels facilities include a gourmet restaurant, two stylish bars, a fitness centre and an outdoor pool.

The Hilton Garden Inn Tanger City Centre will have 323 guest rooms and suites, including 10 family rooms and it is due to open to visitors planning holidays to Morocco in December 2014. The luxury hotel will have a sophisticated restaurant and bar, a modern business centre and fully-equipped fitness centre, as well as Hilton Garden Inns signature features including a large work desk with an ergonomic chair and the Garden Sleep System bed.

The Chairman of Inveravante Group, Manuel Jove Capellan, commented, I am delighted Hilton Worldwide is partnering with us on this landmark project and bringing two of their most prominent brands to this dynamic city. Tangier is the second economic city of Morocco and the calibre of these hotels will add to its metropolitan prestige and showcase the diversity of its hospitality offerings.

The Tanger City Centre resort spans 236,443-square-metres and is located on the main boulevard in Tangier close to its sandy beach.

The project comprises 800 apartments, two Tangier hotels, a large office development and a shopping and leisure centre that covers 32,000-square-metres.

Hilton Worldwide operates more than 3,750 hotels luxury hotels throughout 84 countries across the world.
