Holographic Pharma Labels
Just like any other product in the market, pharma products also face the threat of counterfeiting
. According to whose anti-counterfeiting federation estimation, about 8% of the total international trade includes counterfeited products.
Millions of dollars are spent by the manufacturers of these products to produce high quality pharmaceuticals assistances like medicines, syringes, etc. to make them available to the customers. But when a product is faked, it affects both the consumer and the manufacturer and when these forged items are sold on the goodwill of the original product, the primary sales of the manufacturers drops considerably. The consumer has to bear the risk of using an inferior quality product which can be life endangering in case of pharma products.
Hence, pharmaceutical products need extra protection. For this, security hologram labels are used for pharma products, with an aim to eradicate fake products from the market as forging becomes difficult with good quality pharma labels. Usage of covert technology and secure holograms is done in the making of pharma labels.
These holographic pharma labels make use of 2D or 3D prismatic light that gives them a glossy image which embosses a code that cannot be tracked by anyone. The information stored in the holograms is made up of a very complex design of inference and is extremely microscopic that can only be read by special devices.
Holographic labels are combined with bar-coding, which makes it easier to track pharma products since it not only makes sure of the originality of the product thru the unique anti counterfeit hologram but also contains all the information that was once placed on the label originally at the time of manufacturing thru barcodes.
Pharma labels also come in blank format; the manufacturer can print the required details on it and stick it to the product himself. There are wide ranges of techniques used for creating pharmaceutical labels that are affordable such as micro-text, security pigments, florescent inks, optically variable images and thermo-chromatic inks that make sure that the labels manufactured are impossible to duplicate or forge.
Many technologies are used in creation of pharma labels in combination with other security features to provide multiple layers of protection. For example a visible anti-counterfeit technology is used with high-level forensic or covert feature to give added security.
