If looking at it from a child's perspective, staying at home and having his mom as a teacher will look a lot like summer break, and thus some disciplinary issues might arise; the infant might end up not taking home schooling as seriously as he should. To avoid that situation, some disciplinary measures have to be put up from the onset.

If you're home schooling your child, you dispose of as much flexibility as anyone can; you decide when, what and how much of it to learn. It's best to make a program and an agenda in the beginning, and you must stick to it. If your child is old enough, you can let him in on some of the decision-making, and you can even discuss with him what subjects he prefers to learn of course you shouldn't blindly listen and comply with your kid's wishes; let them help you make the schedule at your own discretion.

Homework is normal aspect of regular school, and should not be neglected when home schooling. After the day has passed, the child should have some work to do in order to cement any concepts he has acquired. Depending on your child, it might be a good idea to supervise them as if they were in a regular public school.

Make sure to teach your kids some of the basic points of discipline, such as manners and courtesy. Since they have no peers or teachers to learn from, you're going to have to demonstrate those qualities and make sure that your kid picks up on them.

It's best to have a room devoid of distractions for your home lessons. You should make the child feel as if he's in a real, boring, classroom in a regular school; dress him as if he was going to school.

If you lack patience, dedication, and neglect providing reinforcing support to your child, he's very likely to get disinterested from any kind of educational work, won't stick to the rules and will ultimately result in failure so if you decide to go for home schooling, make sure you're ready.
