Trieste is a stunning Italian city which is the capital of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, Trieste is known for being at a crossroads of many cultural influences. In the North Italy Trieste is a lovely unique city to visit. This is why so many hotels Trieste are kept busy all year round.

Trieste was once a city surrounded by ancient walls and it was only in the eighteenth century that these were removed to allow the city to grow. Although an Italian city Trieste became Austria's main port as it sat on the boundaries and this meant the city became an affluent area for selling and buying imports and exports.

Visitors and tourists of Trieste can enjoy the many museums sharing history and art from over the years, not only from the city but also including great Italian and Austrian works as well as international pieces. On the coast Trieste you can take the kids or friends can explore for hidden treasures at the Castello di Miramare or you could go sightseeing in many of the districts in town such as the Old Quarter and the New Town District. You may want to walk down the Canal Grande and sample the multitude of coffee shops and bars down there or visit the stunning Trieste Cathedral that dates back to the fourteenth century. There is plenty to do in Trieste including the Aquarium, the Piazza dell Catterdale and the Spa, all of which are a hit with the family!
