House Cleaning Tips - Three Uses For Vinegar
Vinegar is a great cooking ingredient to add flavor to certain foods
. Believe it or not it can also eliminate a mess around the abode. It acts as an all-purpose cleaner for many areas of the home including the bathroom, kitchen and laundry room. If you own a pet and want a natural sanitizing method without any harmful side effects, using different cooking ingredients is an excellent alternative.
Three Uses for Vinegar
There are three primary household uses (aside from cooking) for vinegar. These include:
-Cleaning bathroom fixtures
-Eliminating any messes in the kitchen
-Using vinegar as a natural fabric softener
The Bathroom
Bathroom tiles, the bathtub, the toilet, sink and counter tops can accumulate some pretty nasty, difficult to remove grime. By using pure vinegar, the substance will remove soap scum and hard water stains in the bathtub and sink. Additionally mop the floor with a solution of one part vinegar and one part water to improve the appearance and sanitation of the tiles. Just ensure it's safe to use with your specific tiles.
Vinegar will also help remove rings around the toilet bowl. There's no need to purchase expensive toilet products, instead, use pure vinegar to erode the rings. First, flush the toilet to allow the water level to subside. Next pour the vinegar around the inside of the rim and scrub the bowl. Let it sit for five to ten minutes and flush again.
The Kitchen
The kitchen is the most important area of a home. Keeping it a hygienic and healthy environment to cook and store food is mandatory. Luckily vinegar serves as an excellent alternative in the kitchen to the many name brand products available. Take pure vinegar (you may have just used some to cook) to wash the stove top and counter tops. To wash or mop the floor, use the same one part vinegar and one part water solution.
The Laundry Room
Finally, vinegar can be used as a natural fabric softener. This is particularly accommodating to those families with sensitive skin. Simply add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle as a replacement for store purchased softener. The molecules that comprise vinegar help to break down the laundry detergent more efficiently.
Vinegar has many different uses with house cleaning being one of them. It offers a natural, chemical-free and economical method for removing difficult water stains, grime and soap scum. Go to the store and purchase a large portion of it so you can cook and clean with this vital life ingredient.
