Particularly if you have an attic room in your home, as roofs can be the perfect breeding ground for wasps and bees. On the same vein, if you reduce the humidity in your home, then you will go a long way in winning the battle against pests. One of the best ways to do this is to purchase a humidifier which will remove any humidity from your home and store it in a tank, using a humidifier on a regular basis will reduce the chances of infestiation, it will also go a long way in reducing damp and mould within your home too. Equally, drying laundry on radiators increases damp within a home, for as the clothes dry on the radiator the moisture is released into the air.

There other actions that can be taken in terms of basic cleanliness, ensuring that excess food and liquids are cleared away, as this can be a major cause of infestation. Particularly in the summer, leaving sweet foods and drinks unopened or out can encourage ants and the like to come into your home and once they are there, it is difficult to get them to leave! Do not just ensure that no food is left on surfaces though, clearing out cupboards and shelving will equally go a long way to preventing any problems. Another handy tip, any food that can be used again such as sugar and flour, storing these in plastic containers as opposed to their paper packaging stops scents and residues from being released.
