How Do I Deal With Finding Out That My Ex Girlfriend Cheated On Me?

Finding out that someone cheated on you is always going to be one of those things that is going to hurt

. I don't think that there is really any way to get around that. When you find out after she broke up with you that she also cheated on you, that can make you feel like you just got suckered punched. That can really take away any self esteem that you might have had and that can make the whole scenario even harder to deal with. You might wonder if that is the reason why she broke up with you or if you would have been able to make her stay with you had she not gone outside of the relationship.

How should you deal with finding out that your ex girlfriend cheated on you?

You really have two basic options:

a) You take it as a sign that being with her was not the right choice and even if she was the one that broke up with you, it was just a blessing in disguise. This is probably the healthiest way to take news like finding out that your ex girlfriend cheated on you in the past, because it probably really is a good indication that she was not the right woman for you. While there are plenty instances of couples being able to work out their problems, there are many more that are not able to work things out. Since you and her have already broken up and that is when you found out that she had been unfaithful, you might as well just take it as a sign that she had her issues and that you are probably better off without her in your life. It'll probably help you to move on a lot quicker, so in a way, you can almost think of it being a good thing that you found out what she did.

b) You take it as a sign that you were not giving her enough and that just makes you want her back in your life all the more. While I would not recommend this as a way to deal with the situation, I do think that many guys would take the news this way. I wouldn't say that it is the healthiest way to look at things, nor would I say that it is probably the most accurate way to digest the news that your ex girlfriend was unfaithful when she was dating you. However, I do realize that there are plenty of guys who will see it this way no matter what, so I kind of have to throw it out there as an option, even if it is a weak one.

Truthfully, I am hoping that you would lean more towards option A if you were to find out that your ex girlfriend cheated on you while you were dating her. It's not a good thing to find out that someone has been unfaithful, but when it comes on the heels of a break up, it can be really hard to take in. That being said, I'd say that the best way to deal with it is to just take it as a sign reinforcing the idea that it might be better to move on with your life and chalk her up as one of those women who just can't do a long term and committed relationship.
