How I Used My Blog's Adsense Earnings to Pay Off Credit Card Debt

Credit card debt is a disease that is destroying the US

. WE are constantly bombarded by commercials, songs, movies and ads that tell us we need this particular thing IMMEDIATELY to make us: skinny, taller, voluptuos, fit, rich, happy, etc. Many of us buy into it and chase after that next thing that is going to help us be better, larger, stronger. In the end, we just end up with lots of stuff and credit card debt.

When I speak about debt, I speak from experience. I was addicted to shopping and although I kept up with my credit card payments, unforeseen circumstances got me off the right track. Luckily, I found blogging. Blogging was a great creative outlet for me. Best of all in a few short months I started earning multiple streams of income. I used this income to pay off credit card debt, create an emergency fund and pay for my minivan. I'd like to share how I did it.

5 Tips to Help You Eliminate Debt

1. Stop Debt! That's right, don't make any more purchases. Cut up those cards. When you keep using your cards, you're just digging yourself into a deeper hole.

2. Find free ways to create passive income.

3. Reduce your expenses. Get rid of the things you don't need to survive. A few examples are upgraded cable packages, morning newspaper, Starbucks trips, morning newspaper and subscriptions to sirius radio.

4. Sell your extra stuff.

5. Apply all the extra money you earn directly to your debt.

How My Blog Helped Pay Off My Debt

I started blogging as a creative outlet. Later I learned that since my blogs were on the first page for competitive keywords I could get a lot of traffic and adsense would generate passive income.

I was contacted by advertisers that paid me directly for reviews and other forms of ads.

I started earning money writing reviews about services and products.

I started earning commissions from affiliate networks.

I joined several home based businesses which created another source of income.

I now provide SEO, social media marketing and link building services to online and offline businesses.

Remember, your blog can earn you money. How much it can earn depends on the type of blog that it is, how much organic search traffic you get and how you monetize it. Learn how to turn your hobby into a profitable home based business and you will be able to pay down your debt and start building wealth!
