important ways.....or is it only ONE simple measurement in a sea of statistics that people use to judge your financial worthiness? Will it effect your ability to get a job? Housing? Insurance? Or is all of the focus on checking your credit score regularly just silly and for uptight people who don't have anything better to do with their time?

Want to know the truth? I've had my share of up and downs with my personal credit over the years. I've had impeccable credit. I've had BAD credit...and just about every shade in between. But when I KNEW where I was.......it really wasn't a problem. I didn't apply for things I knew I would be declined for....and when my credit was impeccable, I advantaged that to ensure I DID apply for (and get) things I knew I might have trouble with in the future....especially due to the "feast or famine" nature of my employment.

But what REALLY Hurt Were......

The times I simply didn't know. Or was taken by surprise. Blindsided by BAD credit items, inquiries or unexpected entries that I didn't anticipate (or often deserve) This can lead to the HUMILIATION of being rejected for apartments, employment, insurance and all sorts of other stuff that leaves you scrambling for a fix....and it's OFTEN too late!

Having an accurate, and updated idea of EXACTLY where your credit score lies is one of the EASIEST ways to avoid this....and you'll never NOT know at any given point what to expect. In my view.....the only thing WORSE than bad credit, is being SURPRISED by bad credit..:-) (and why I'm such a passionate advocate of staying informed, educated and AWARE of my score at all important times!)
