Smoking is hazardous, especially to those individuals who have diabetes. Smoking can lead to cardiovascular complications, especially with individuals who have diabetes. Research has indicated that smoking has a bad effect on the glucose, lipids and metabolism and this leads to the metabolic control in diabetes going away. This also has effects on the blood vessels that are found in the body along with inflammation.
Did we mention that smoking when an individual has diabetes causes Micro-vascular complications? The micro-vascular complications include eye damage, kidney disease and nerves damage. In the end, speaking friend to friend, heart to heart, whether you have diabetes or you don't have diabetes, you should stop smoking in order to reduce these health hazards that could come about from smoking. However, it is your choice, you can either live healthy or you could live in pain.
An individual that has diabetes and smokes is more likely to sustain kidney disease. Individuals who have diabetes work hard in order to stay healthy, but when they smoke, it all comes crashing down.
