Whether indoors or out doors wet or dry stairs can be slippery
, so it's a good idea to apply non skid stair treads to help prevent nasty falls. Applying the threads to your stairs is actually a very simple process all you need is a few packages of self adhesive thread material, a measuring tape and a pair of scissors or shears. The self adhesive treads can be found in a variety of different shops with relative ease in many cases, you can even find good quality products of this nature in a low cost or discount shop.
It is always important to remember before you begin that your stairs, have to be thoroughly cleaned in order for the material to stick properly. It is a good idea to sweep the area that you will be using.
Measure the length of each step you will be covering starting from one wall all the way to the other. Unroll your material and line it up with your measuring tape this will give you a pretty accurate idea of what you will need. Do keep in mind that you need to have two equal length pieces of thread for each step you are covering.
Once you have decided where it will be placed carefully remove the backing to expose the stickiness. Carefully place, sticky side down about one inch from the edge. Repeat this process for every step, being careful to line up as closely as possible so that it will even all the way down.
Once you have insured that everything is properly stuck to the surface it is a good idea to sweep once more ensuring that there is no dirt or debris in or around the work you have just completed to prevent the work you've just completed from lifting off the surface.
