How To Care For Your New Led
Light Emitting Diode commonly known as LED is another economical source of light resulting through the generation of Photons in the electronic circuit
. Mainly used in the traffic light signals, electronic devices, car lights, air crafts, warning lights, cellular phones. They can be use to light the houses, but the initial purchase cost would be high. Introduced in 1962, when the diode is forward based, that is, it is switched on; the electrons combine with the electron holes producing heat and results into low emission light.
LED are very robust and very economical to use. Normally vapors, dust do not effect the light, but intense shocks can damage them resulting into the breaking of the glass body or the electronic circuit. Sudden short circuiting and irregular power surge can also damage the light.
The best temperatures for the efficient working of the lights range between -30 degree C and up to 25 degree Celsius. But when used for outdoor us, when temperatures exceed 25 degrees, they tend to overheat and fail Therefore for such application heat shades are used to minimize the fatigue.
They can be saved and taken care of in different ways:
1. Saving form power surge, surge suppressors should be used.
2. Induction of sun and heat shades for traffic lighting purpose or all external uses.
3. Securely placed to avoid damage from winds and flying dust grid.
4. Must be turned off in case of out shoot of any irregular electromagnetic waves and influx.
5. Sudden physical shocks must be avoided.
They can be as small as 3mm, and are available in variety of colors such as red, green, blue, and white and yellow.
To achieve the best lighting results, they require regular cleaning with light cotton fabric dipped in clean warm water or acetone.
For home use, they are mostly used for interior decoration, cloths, specially the Christmas tree. Avoid curling their wires into very tight curls and place them in a room temperature away from the fire place or magnetic power source as magnetic rays may damage them. Most of all physical jerks are most liable to damage them due to their delicate physical form. It is very strongly recommended that if you intend storing these lights for a long time then loosely bundle then up and place them in a carton or a box so that these lights do not get crushed and stay clear of dust, humidity and moisture.
