How To Find The Right Pay-per Click Advertiser
There are many factors and variables that go into choosing the right pay-per click advertiser
. You certainly don't have to be limited to only choosing one, I use three different advertisers, but the keywords and the products or offers that I promote, dictate a lot of things.
I use the three major advertisers. Google, Yahoo Search Marketing and Microsoft Ad Center. Google being the biggest, Yahoo being number two and Ad Center being number three.
One of the major misconceptions is that Google costs the most and will give you the most traffic. Keywords and landing pages dictate the pricing. Sure, on average you may pay more for Google Adwords keywords and get more traffic from them, but it certainly isn't automatic and that way every time.
I'm telling you that you can get a TON of traffic from Yahoo. I must confess that I use that more than even Google Adwords. Google is just becoming too crowded and they make too many changes.
I'm starting to prefer Yahoo, at least for my niches and keywords. When I scale a campaign and need to go bigger, I will go to Google Adwords, but when I start out, I start with Yahoo Search Marketing.
The thing of it is, is that I when I start a new campaign I want to test. I don't need a thousand visitors, the first day, in order to, test. I just want to try and find the most profitable keywords and figure out a conversion rate.
The best two bits of advice that I can give you about pay-per click advertising is this. The first is to test the keywords and find the conversion rate, the second is to start small and work your campaign up, into a bigger operation.
Too many people start big and end with a whimper. They spend too much money, without testing. Does testing take more time and effort? Yes, but if you don't do it, you won't be successful with pay-per click advertising.
I don't care who you are. None of us know for sure what a sales page is going to convert, without actually sending traffic to it. None of us know how certain keywords will convert without testing them.
I have an opinion on how a sales page will convert and I can have an opinion on how certain keywords will convert, but at the end of the day, I don't want my opinion, I want facts. Testing is everything.
At the end of the day, it will be up to you to try the three big advertisers and see which one you like the best. The great thing about it is that you can use all three if you want.
