DETERMINE whether you want a permanent job or a temporary job. Many employment agencies focus either on long-term/permanent job placement or short-term/temporary job placement. Some agencies do both.

KNOW the difference between permanent and temporary job placement. If you're hired for permanent job placement, the employment agency places you with a company that hires you as full-time, regular employee.

TEMPORARY job placement places you with companies that hire you for one day to several months. Once the job is completed you get another temporary job assignment with another company.
