One thing that is a very important part of each day is sleep

. Many are limited on time and want to sleep more efficiently, so that there can be more time during the day for other things. While there are some who have the ability to get few hours of sleep and still feel great, others cannot do this and function properly. What you can do is make sure that the times that you want to sleep, you are actually sleeping versus lying in bed awake.

The first thing that must be done is to establish a regular pattern. A regular time of waking up works better than a regular pattern of falling asleep. It is hard to gauge when you are actually going to be tired enough for bed. The strategy here is to listen to your body and find out when it is ready to go to sleep. This ensures that you can continue doing things while your body is awake and fall asleep quickly once you go to bed. If you are limited on time and spend 30 minutes each night falling asleep, this is wasted time.

Find out what is waking you up in the middle of the night, if anything. At times, waking up can be a sign of a medical issue, like apnea, that you may not realize that you have. Other times it is simply things like too many lights coming through your window or outside noises. Do what you can do to reduce health issues or other interruptions so that when you are sleeping, you actually stay asleep.

Limit eating and drinking before bed. You do not want to be digesting a large meal or waking in the middle of the night to use the restroom. These issues can cause people to lie awake in bed with digestion issues, heartburn, and other things that can be avoided with eating earlier in the day and not right before bed.

Paying attention to your body and following these tips should help you get to sleep fast and stay asleep all night long.
