How To Get Rid Of Stink Bugs In The House

If you're trying to figure out how how to get rid of stink bugs in the house that you're probably beating your head trying to find a method that will keep them from flooding in. Not only do they smell really bad, but they are extremely creepy to have around, and if you guests over - just embarassing as all get out.

The problem is that every time you get rid of one, you turn around and there's another creepy little bug staring you right down, almost defying you and daring you to get rid of him too.

However, there are techniques that do work, and plenty to choose from. This will cover a basic plan of action that

can help you greatly reduce their numbers, and even possibly exterminate them for good, without having to call an expensive exterminator, use repellents or anything that could be harmful to your health or that of your pets and family.

First, the best way to keep them out for good is to fortify your outside structure. This doesn't mean constructing a moat or anything, but it does mean inspecting your walls and determining if there are any possible entry points. These should all be sealed up, and pay extra close attention to your windows, door frames and overhang spaces.

Then, repeat the same with the inside of your home for extra good measure. Stink bugs love good light, and you will most likely find them clinging to your windows or lamp bulbs. The first thing to do is get a light trap which will redirect them and trap them, allowing you to dispose of the contents in a group.

Sweep up any stink bugs that you may encouter and dispose of them accordingly. Some people will flush them down the toilet, while others will throw them to the curb. Before hand, place them in a bag and put it in the freezer so that they will fall asleep. This cuts down on the chances of them escaping. Trying to crush or mash them is not a good idea, because upon impact they will release their bad odor and make matters worse.

If they seem to disappear from one area, this usually means that they are now somewhere else, and that your problem is not quite over yet. However, seeing them in groupings is a great way to tell where they might be getting in at.
