Start with your toes, flex each one individually, then move up your legs, slowly clenching and releasing each muscle as you move up. As you do this make sure you keep your mind on the task at hand. By the time you get to your face, you should be getting relaxed. If you are not yet asleep, start back at your toes.
The more often you follow this routine, the more effective it will become, so don't get disheartened if it doesn't work too well the first time.
