How To Implement Humor And Comics In Your Business
As a marketer you understand the importance of communication to connect with your customers and prospects
. Last month, you learned that non-verbal communication is the primary way the brain understands information. You also learned that written communication lacks these vital non-verbal clues. You began to look at CopyDoodles as a tool enabling non-verbal communication clues to be placed within a written document. Let's continue to investigate more of these powerful tools that you see many of the most successful marketers using regularly in their campaigns by looking at the use of pictures.
Pictures
One of the power strategies I employ to read at the world record speed is to convert as much information into pictures as possible. Pictures are analog. They can capture huge amounts of data in a very small amount of space. Pictures also connect with your brain on a deeply emotional level. Using pictures that are thematically linked to your marketing copy can help trigger a buying response in your prospects.
Below are some example pictures useful for marketing with some tips on how to use them.

Using Copy Comics
One of my favorite CopyDoodles tools is copy comics. Comics can be used in a variety of ways to create unique marketing pieces. Many are in color, although most of them are black and white.
Here are some examples, and how they can be used:
Linking an offer to a holiday or current event:

Using a current event or holiday that your prospect is already thinking about can increase their interest in your offer.
Personalizing an envelope using a comic

There are a few things going on in this picture. First, I am using a male figure. You can segregate your list into males and females so when you mail merge your letter, the males get the male picture and the women get the female picture. This creates greater rapport by niching between the sexes.
Secondly, I've taken a snap shot of one of my websites and placed it in the window of the computer using Photoshop. This generates interest in my web site and its products.
Third, by placing this comic both on the envelope and at the top of my letter, I am accomplishing several things. I am creating interest in opening the letter, and branding it at the same time.
There is one more thing you can do to generate an irresistible urge to open your letter. You can use mail merge to place an individual's name under the comic making it appeal directly to them both on your envelope, and in your letter. Let's see how this works
First I will set up the mail merge for the picture, and then show you the picture after the mail merge is done.
Now let's see an example of a personalized merged letter or envelope:

Who could resist opening a letter with a personalized cartoon on the envelope? Who could resist reading the letter with the personalized cartoon inside their letter too?
