How To Make A Personalized Photo Frame For Grandma
Follow these steps to make a personalized photo frame for your grandma: prepare the
materials you need, trace on scrapbook paper, make the handprints, cut out the handprints, and place the photo.
To show your love and care for your grandma on her special occasions, make sure you get her a perfect gift. Nothing beats a personalized one. Here is how you can make her a personalized photo frame:
Prepare the materials you need
To make this wonderful personalized item, gather first all the materials you need. Things to get are a 5x7 double photo frame, a decorative scrapbook paper, a pair of scissors, an ink pad, glue (preferably the stick kind), and a 4x6 photo of your choice.
Trace on the scrapbook paper
Start making the project by getting 2 similar scrapbook papers. They will serve as mats for each frame. Place the glass from one of the frames on top of each scrapbook paper and trace the edges. After tracing, use the scissors to cut out the 5x7 inch rectangles drawn on each paper.
Make the hand prints
Prepare some light colored papers like cream or ivory shades. Get your child and let him press his/her hand onto the ink pad. Ensure that a good amount of ink is imprinted in his hands. Now allow the child to press his hand onto the papers. You may need to try it on several papers and check which one is the best. After this, assist your child in cleaning up, wash his hands and wipe them dry.
Cut out the hand prints
After preparing the hand prints, cut them out. With the use of a ruler, carefully draw out a rectangle or square around the hand print and make sure that the print is in the center. Ensure that there is only enough paper surrounding the print to have a nice border. Apply carefully glue on the opposite side of the hand print. Position it centrally on one of the scrapbook papers, and press it smoothly.
Place the photo
Now get the desired photo, most preferably the photo of the child with the hand prints. Apply glue on the opposite side, then press it centrally on the other scrapbook paper. Now arrange the hand prints and photo into the frame. Your project is finished.
Present your gift to grandma with love and care. It's always the thought that counts, and a personalized gift is one thing she would surely appreciate.
