How To Make Money With Cpanel Hosting As A Reseller
Do you know that you can sign up as a hosting reseller and sell hosting to your clients
? Many web designers and developers are doing this to make extra income. They find that it's easier to stay closer to their clients when they provide hosting. When clients encounter problems on the sites, they can be the first to respond. Here is how you can offer cpanel hosting to your clients and make more money.
Step 1: Sign up with a reseller hosting plan.
Step 2: Setup an order page on your own website.
Step 3: Provide support for your own clients.
Step 1: Sign up with a reseller hosting plan.
The first thing you need is a reseller hosting plan. Such a plan is more expensive when compared to an ordinary shared hosting plan. However, the price is only slightly higher. You get more resources in your package (for reselling purposes). There will be several packages to choose from. If you are not familiar with the server business, choose the cheapest plan. You can always upgrade when you get more clients.
A reseller plan may cost you $30 per month, but you are able to sign up 5 clients on it - each paying you a monthly fee of $15 per month. That works out to $75 per month. You are already making a $45 profit with 5 clients. What if you have more clients? Your income will grow substantially.
Step 2: Setup an order page on your own website.
Provide a web page on your own site for your clients to place order. As you work on your web design and development projects, check with clients whether they need additional hosting. Mention that you find it easier to work on the sites if the sites are hosted on your servers. You already know the technical aspects of the servers, and don't have to spend time trying to figure out if the scripts work or not.
If clients are keen to try out the hosting, send them to the order page. Make sure you provide them with assistance if they run into any issues. Cpanel does provide billing capabilities, so much of the ordering process can be automated.
Step 3: Provide support for your own clients.
Your service provider won't be able to support your clients if you are selling your own hosting. Therefore, you must be prepared to provide support to your clients. Usually, when there are no problems, clients will not send you support emails. You may, however, receive the occasional email asking you about some technical issue.
When you receive such emails, be sure to respond promptly. Otherwise, your clients will think that they are getting poor support and may terminate the hosting. This is a last resort, but if they can't get the help they need, they are forced to go somewhere else.
