How To Motivate Yourself To Lose Weight By Destroying Negativity
Whenever you look into the mirror and hate what you see, it's the most depressing feeling in the world. If you're overweight and had just one wish, it would be to have a body you could be proud of every time. The only person who has the power to grant you that wish...is YOU.
Motivate yourself to lose weight. Easier said than done. Weight loss is one of the most difficult things to achieve and maintain. It takes a combination of mental discipline, consistent physical effort, motivation and healthy eating. None of these components are easy to master, and none will provide benefits in isolation. You need them all to lose weight. However, half the battle is not against what you can see, it's what you can't see.
In this particular fight, your biggest enemies are invisible. They are low self-esteem, self-doubt, procrastination, fear and denial. These mental demons will block your path to success like huge mountains, making your efforts seem worthless. Well, mountains are there to be climbed. You may not know it, but all along you've possessed the most powerful weapon there is in your fight against these demons the power of your MIND.
You need to learn how to arm your weapon, and use it to destroy your demons permanently. Everyone has it, but many don't even realize it and even fewer know how to use it. But your mind is the one thing that can guide you in your quest to achieve a healthier, sexier, slimmer body. It all starts in the mind.
Destroy Your Low Self Esteem
If you consider yourself to have low self esteem, it means you do not think much of yourself. You place a very low value on your self-worth. You do not believe you deserve much because you aren't much yourself. You may struggle in a social environment, be reluctant to go out, have an eating disorder or generally tend to focus on the negative aspects of your life.
First of all, STOP thinking that you're worthless. Believe you are worth a lot! Don't think that everyone and everything else is perfect, because nothing is perfect. Make sure that people around you aren't the reason for your low self esteem. What gives other people the right to decide what you're worth? Don't worry too much about what people think of you. Think of yourself as the ideal person that you'd like to be. There's nothing to stop you becoming that person.
Destroy Your Self Doubt
Your self doubt is probably one of the main reasons why you may be overweight. You want to lose weight so badly, but think you can't do it. Why? What makes you doubt yourself? You KNOW what you need to do to lose weight, so why do you think you can't do it?
Write down all the reasons why you think you can't lose weight. Then write down statements which will blow those reasons out of the water. Throw away the reasons and focus heard on the statements. Self doubt is just a lack of confidence in yourself. Don't think of yourself as a victim. There's absolutely nothing to stop you from doing the things you need to do to start losing weight. Give yourself a challenge to overcome your own doubt and start believing in yourself and what you can do.
Destroy Procrastination
When you procrastinate you delay doing something that you KNOW you should be doing. Instead, you focus on other less important tasks. Why are you deliberately sabotaging your time? You can't get it back. You're just finding reasons to keep that weight on...the same weight you hate! If you procrastinate now, then later you'll just feel depressed, guilty and hopeless for delaying what you should be doing. You might be scared that trying to lose weight won't work so you might put it off. The best way to destroy this trait is to realize when you're doing it, stop immediately and instead concentrate on doing something to help you lose weight.
Destroy Your Fear
Ask yourself what you're afraid of. What can possibly make you so scared that you're putting your health (and life) at risk by being overweight? Is the fear worth it? Does it control you? Is fear an actual person standing in front of you and physically stopping you from losing weight? Fear does NOT control you. So step up to the plate and tell your fear to get lost. You only need to take the first step, a small step, in order to get things going. Small steps will soon become giant leaps.
If you're scared because you've tried to lose weight before and failed, ask yourself if you're doing it deliberately to protect yourself because you're actually scare of being successful. When the time comes to look back on your life, do you really want to be saying that you were overweight when you were younger because you were scared?
Destroy Self Denial
If you know you're overweight, yet choose to ignore it then you're in self denial. You're denying yourself the chance to become the person you've always wanted to be, the image of yourself you see in your dreams and in your thoughts. You may often find yourself sacrificing your own interests in favour of someone else's. You just don't want to admit that you need to focus on YOURSELF not others.
Stop. Other people's weight is not your problem. Your weight is your problem so you need to be paying attention to yourself first. Self denial will only give you a lower self esteem. Look at yourself in the mirror and admit to yourself that you are overweight. Once you do this you will be in a better position to start taking action to start bringing your weight down.
The sooner you get a grip on these success destroyers the quicker you will be ready to start changing your life. There is NO reason whatsoever for you to hold back.
