If you have a kid in the house, you can choose to paint his room with colours like aqua, yellow, etc. which look quite appealing. After choosing the colours, its important to choose the paints. There are various brands available in the market that could suit your needs. Some colour paints are weatherproof. Some colour paints protect your walls from rains. Some reflect the sunlight to keep you cool during summers. So, its important to carefully choose the colour paints.

Its totally up to you whether you want to give the painting job to a home decorator or do it yourself. If you have a good enough budget then hiring a home decorator is a good idea but if you have budget constraints and you love the idea of Do it yourself, you can take up the task of house painting on your own. The next important thing to do is to collect all the required home painting equipment. You need to buy things like paint brushes, rollers, a roller pan and external handles, a drop cloth and a masking tape.

Before you start painting, cover the frames of your doors so you dont paint over them as well. This will give you a clear idea of where and how much you need to paint. If these details are not looked at, the work will appear shabby. Then once you start painting, you should start painting those places of the wall, which cannot be easily seen like behind book shelves and wall cabinets. Practice this rule of wall painting religiously. Once you start painting less visible places, you will get an idea of how you should paint and what are the other things that are to be kept in mind before you move on to the more important places. Paint the wall using a roller. If you see the paint running down, roll over it, smoothen it as much as possible. By keeping these things in mind, you should be able to paint your house beautifully.
