Im here with Mark McFarland from Southern Decorating. Ive got a great
question for you today that we get asked a lot. How do you paint your house
fast?
Mark McFarlane:
Well, speed comes down to cost. You may be able to get it done by the weekend for a minimal cost. It depends on how good you want the job to be. It all comes down to cost on how much preparation we do. The more preparation, the more the cost.
Scott Wilson:
So I guess the question is whether you really want the job done quickly or you want it to last. If you want your job to last, then youll want to pay a little extra and wait a little longer to have a better finished product.
Mark McFarlane:
Certainly. Thats one of the questions I ask when I go see an owner. It
depends really on the outside or inside. Its especially important when it
comes to the outside due to the weather it has to withstand. Thats one of the major questions I ask an owner is how much prep they want to put into it. The cost comes into play here to.
Scott Wilson:
Thats a great question to ask because some people may want to just get rid of the house and only want it for a couple years. Some people might be planning on moving in the next 3-4 years and they dont want to live there for the rest of theyre life. It really comes down to the situation at hand.
Mark McFarlane:
Thats true. See, the paint cost will be the same whether you do it fast or a
slow job. So the paint process is the same, but the labor cost is what goes up.
Scott Wilson:
