There are also showers for men only. These showers tend to have sporting activities. If the parents are having their second child, they have had enough toys and clothes for the baby. Therefore, they may want to celebrate a party where all the guests bring books to build a library for the child.

Usually the baby shower occurs a few months before the mother gives birth to the child. However, there are couples who celebrate the big event after the mom has given birth. The guests will be able to see the baby and then give appropriate gifts.

As with most parties and showers, you should send out invitations four to six weeks before the event. The guests will then have time to arrange their work and prepare gifts. When you have many out of town guests, you should advise them far in advance so that they will be able to come.

One of the most important things of baby showers is food and drink. Therefore, you should make sure there is enough food for all of the guests. Be prepared to serve for some extra guests so make sure there is ample food available.
