The summer sun and summer moisture can be harmful to your hair

Wear a cap when you go outside. It protects your hair from the sun. If you need to be out in the sun for prolonged period then do not wear a hat. Just use a sunscreen conditioner. If you are not able to use a sunscreen with conditioner, just use normal sunscreen. But make sure you thoroughly rinse it out using a cleansing shampoo when return home.
Use a conditioner shampoo regularly as they keep the hair well nourished. Use of moisturizing shampoo will help in locking the moisture content of the hair. After using shampoo, sprinkle some baby powder on the scalp and comb it off.
Try to avoid the usage of any heat devices like curling iron, blow dryer etc on the hair. It can make the scalp even drier and can be harmful. Also try to wash hair with cool water. Hot water can make scalp dry and can heat up your head.
Restrict the usage of shampoo. It can dry your scalp. Stay away from hair products like hair color and gels. They contain chemicals and alcohol which are harmful to the hair and scalp.
Consume water as much as possible. It will keep you hydrated and also keeps hair healthy. A healthy diet is also necessary to keep hair problem at bay.
Make sure to wet your hair before getting into the pool. Otherwise the chlorinated water will be absorbed by the hair making it prone to damage. Clean your hair well using a clarifying shampoo. It will reduce the effect of chorine damage. If not washed properly, chlorine can dry your scalp severely.
Get your hair trimmed once in every 6-8 weeks. Hair grows at a faster rate during warm months and this will cause frizz to the hair, due to moisture and heat. Apply conditioner to the frizzed areas. Wrapping a plastic around your hair can help in moisturizing the dried out areas on your scalp. The moisture content of your hair can be locked within, by running cold water through your hair. This will also give an extra shine to your hair.
