How To Reach Mathura To Delhi

Mathura, located at the banks of the river Yamuna, is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna and several devotees pay a visit to this pilgrim city. Besides the birthplace of Krishna, Mathura is home to Jama Masjid and other temples. The city of Mathura offers rich Hindu culture and tradition. Rasalila is a popular folk dance with music celebrated on the banks of River Yamuna. Some special sweets like Mathura peda and khurchan are famous here. The best time to visit Mathura is from October to March.

Delhi can be reached easily by flight, rail and by road from Mathura. Low economy flights like JetLite, Spice Jet and Indigo connect Mathura to Delhi at an affordable rate. New Delhi International Airport is situated around 30 km from the city that connects flights from across the country and abroad.

Frequent trains like superfast and express connect Mathura Railway Station to Delhi. The time taken from Mathura to Delhi is around 3 hours depending upon the speed of the trains.

High tech private buses are available for Delhi for the price of Rs. 450 to Rs. 800/-.

Cabs are also a comfortable option for travelling. Taxis charge Rs. 3700/- to reach Delhi from Mathura. Indica type cabs can accommodate four persons. To accommodate seven people Tavera can be used and it costs around Rs. 4800/- for a round trip.

If you have your own vehicle it takes approximately 2 hours 20 minutes to cover 149 km from Mathura to Delhi.
