How To Set Up A Google+ Business Page
Google+ is an amalgamation of several services that we are already using
. Google+ integrates social services such as Google Profiles, and introduces new services identified as Circles, Hangouts and Sparks. Google+ is available as a website and on mobile devices.
Google+ is Googles answer to Facebook. If youre already using Facebook, then its easy to, know how this works. Similar to Facebook you can share content such as text, photos, video, etc to a network of contacts. Your contacts can respond and rate your shared content in turn, also you can add contacts, block them, connect to other services like Twitter, and much more& more.
Most importantly, avoid creating your business page through just any old account, such as a personal Gmail account. Instead, choose a Gmail account that is accessible to multiple members of your marketing team for e.g. companymarketingteam@gmail.com, and use that account to create your business pages.
Customize Your Pages Public Profile:
Let see how to customize the page, after youve selected your pages category such as,
* Local Business or Place,
*Product / Brand,
*Company, Institution or Organization,
*Arts, Entertainment or Sports etc
1. Add Your Profile Photo & Tagline:
First & fore most, you will be asked to add your tagline, i.e. the 10 words that best describe your page and your pages profile photo.
After you have added these items, click on Continue, you will be asked to spread the word about your new page through your personal Google+ profile. If youre not ready yet, just click on Finish to be taken to your new page.
2. Edit the Information:
Once youve perused your pages welcome screen, then you will have to edit your pages information. Go to your pages profile by clicking on the Profile icon at the top, left of the Search Google+ box. Then go to your about tab and edit your profile page.
In About section, you will be able to click on everything from your page name to your links to enter relevant information about your page within hours for local businesses or places.
Also be sure to enter additional links to your pages in the Introduction section using the link button and under Recommended Links to link to your other social profiles, blog, blog posts &so on. Select important keywords for your business & if you are a digital marketing agency, be sure to include digital marketing in your profile too.
3. Add Your Photo strip:
Last but not least when it comes to your Google+ page design it is filling up your photo strip. Add photos that best represent your page in your photo strip beneath your page name and tagline.
Congratulations! Now your Google+ Page is ready.
Once your profile is ready, you can start posting to your profile by adding status updates, links, photos and videos just like you do on your personal Google+ profile.
4. Connect Your Google+ Page to Your Website:
You can connect your website to your Google+ page using the Google+ badge configuration tool. Currently only the icons are available, but official badges are coming soon. Similarly if you want to add a badge to your website, then you will have to connect your Google+ page to your website simply for the search benefits.
Features:
Below are few features of Google + that all users have to know about.
*Stream:
Stream, which occupies the middle of three columns on the page, users can see updates from their Circles. There is an input box which allows users to enter a post. Along with the text entry field there are icons to upload and share photos and videos. The Stream is filtered to show only posts from specific Circles.
*Circles:
Circles, which enables the users to organize people into groups for sharing across various Google products and services. Although other users may be able to view a list of people in a users collection of Circles, they cannot view the names of those Circles. The privacy settings also helps the users to hide the users in their Circles as well as who has them in their Circle.

Hangouts are places used to facilitate group video chat with a maximum of 10 people participating in a single Hangout. Anyone on the web can potentially join the Hangout if they happen to possess the unique URL of the Hangout
*Sparks:

Featured interest sparks are also available, based on the topics, which are interesting. Sparks helps to keep the users informed of the latest updates on the topics of their interest.
*Google Badges:
Badges are sidebar widgets which are embedded to Add to Circles buttons and drop-down lists into off-site websites and blogs, similar to Facebooks Like Box widgets.
