? A lot of people get very nervous whenever they have to take a test that measures character traits and personality factors, but it is really nothing to worry about. These tests arent designed to determine if you are a bad worker or a good worker, instead they are designed to see if you will fit in with the companys corporate culture and if you have the right personality for the job.

Its easy to panic when an HR rep at the company you are interviewing with gives you a call and tells you that in order to move on to the next interview process you will need to take an online employee assessment. These tests, which take very little time at all, can be frightening at first thought, but in all actuality they are nothing to worry about. A company knows what type of worker functions best in their office, and they are looking for someone who will be a good fit for the company and the position they are seeking. Companies assign personality tests to perspective candidates not only to see if they are the right person for the job, but also if they will enjoy the type of work they will be doing. It is important to be honest on these tests and not give the type of answers you think the company wants to hear. If you try and provide the right answers for the job you are seeking you will only be hurting yourself, you could end up with a job you dont like that utilizes a skill set you dont have.

These tests can measure just about anything, from how well a perspective employee can follow directions, to their ability to work on teams and their competitive spirit. Some of the questions may seem a little obvious and silly, such as: do you think it is appropriate to take office supplies for personal use? But other questions use a scale of one to ten with a completely agree at the 1 mark, neutral at the 5 mark and completely disagree at the 10 mark. These questions dont ask easily distinguishable right or wrong answers, but instead make statements that you mark how much you agree with. These types of questions cover many factors, they state things like I work better in a team setting than I do independently, or I am driven to succeed by competition. If you are applying for a sales type job it might seem like a good idea to present a complete alpha dog set of answers, but it will only hurt you. You need to be honest or you could end up with a job you hate.

When taking these tests you need to go to an area where you wont be dealing with any distractions, take a deep breath, relax and answer the questions honestly. Once the test is done you probably wont think about it ever again, and if you are the right person for the job you will be invited back to go to the next stage of employment screening.
