How To Teach Dog Fetch!
I was a bit overwhelmed when I brought my first puppy home
, even the simple how to teach dog fetch overwhelmed me just a little. Well after sitting back and taking a deep breath I learned the easy way of how to teach dog fetch and I want to share it with you. I hope this is easy for your dog to pick up, it certainly was supper simple for my dog, so here it is.
When learning how to teach dog fetch start by going out to the store and picking up two of the exact same toys, yes two of them. So after getting the toys, your going to begin by showing him the first one. Get him interested in the toy, shake it even. You know you have his attention just by looking in his eyes. They should be glued to the toy, tease him a little with it.
Before he starts jumping up or what not on you, throw it. I guarantee he will chase after it. When learning how to teach dog fetch, once he gets the toy and picks it up. Say his name and show him the second toy. If your lucky he'll still be holding the first toy on his way back to you. If not, it's OK, he will eventually. In the mean time it will give you a little bit of a work out and that's always nice.
So that's all it really takes for you to know how to teach dog fetch, simple right? If you want more information on how to teach dog fetch, I included an awesome link that has a free video dog training lesson, feel free to check it out if you want. It was really helpful when I brought home my first puppy, I just thought it would be nice to share it with you as well.
