How To Train For MMA

The closest we can get to being in actual cage fight for MMA training is to spar

. So much damage can potentially occur in the real fight that fighting is not fully trained beforehand. There are certain aspects of sparring that sets the world champion fighters apart from the amateurs. Here are keys that can get you started in the right direction.

Use Your Jab.

Having a hand in you opponent's face most of the time is going to keep them in a partial confusion during the entire fight. The more you throw, the more mixed up your opponent gets.

When you're not used to having a hand constantly rushing to your face you'll realize how hard it is to execute an offence. You want to trigger your opponent's defence opening up vulnerable areas.

Tuck Your Chin.

Often overlooked and very important is keeping your chin tucked in tight. Basically almost more than anywhere you want to avoid getting smacked on the jaw and be put to sleep. Even with the head gear in sparring and a chin up you can still get knocked out.

There is no mercy when it comes to fighting with 4 ounce gloves. There is no room for error, so keep your chin tucked when sparring so that it is habit in the real fight.

Breathe Easy.

When you are consciously breathing at a relaxed rate you are fighting like a champion. As soon as you tense up and hold your breath you begin to use up your energy reserve due to lack of oxygenation to your body's tissues.

As well you aren't ventilating, which will increase levels of lactic acid in your body, causing fatigue and muscle pain.

Think hard about these tips to cement them in your mind. An MMA strength and conditioning program will elaborate on them and prepare you to spar with better fighters that will improve your fight game. Get started now.
