How To Train Your New Puppy Easily

Everyone, especially children, are excited by a new puppy

. Just make sure that the you are taking home this puppy for good reasons, and not just momentary happiness. As many people can tell you, getting a pet is a lifetime commitment, not a present for the holidays. A puppy can bring lots of happy memories and times but they have a lot of training and work involved to, they are not all fun and no work!

Not only does a puppy's temperament depend on how it was reared but also by what breed of dog it is. Bulldogs, Boxers and German Shepherds are all very protective due to their guard-dog upbringings. Border and Bearded Collies are often energetic and excitable dogs historically used for herding (be aware because they are reared on a farm they may be a little bit nervous around modern day technologies, such as bridges, loud noises etc) Labradors and Pointers are traditionally hunting dogs and have good friendly personalities. Of course these are just general expectations every dog has its day...and its personality!

Depending on how much time and attention you spend on training, you can achieve success in a few weeks training your puppies. This doesn't have to be an endlessly grueling training process because you can actually get good results with sessions that only last a few minutes at a time. Once you have brought your new puppy home, you should immediately start training him in obedience with simple commands like sit, stay, and fetch. As your dog ages, it is acceptable to start practicing commands such as play dead, roll over and paw. Training a young puppy is not as hard as you may think as they are like a blank sheet of paper waiting to be written on. The way and things that they are taught will stick to them and will influence them later on in life, although training isn't forever so you need spend a few minutes every day just to keep reminding them what to do.

When puppies are not trained then your house will constantly look like their toilet ground and furniture will display massive holes in it which are some of the ugly scenes that will confront you. Puppies are not born knowing the difference between right and wrong, so you must teach them what you expect of them.

There's a huge variety of training materials out there these days, but really, as long as you are willing to put in the needed time and effort you can train your dog quite well without them. Training a puppy takes months of patient work, make sure you do a few minutes everyday to reinforce what the dog has learned and to make sure it does not forget.
