I'd say one of the most difficult things for a window cleaner to have is the skill to stay dry throughout the day. When window cleaning your dealing with soap and water all day which makes it hard to stay dry if your not careful. This can look very unprofessional in the customers eyes if you not cautious.

If your new in the window cleaning industry you might not see any harm in getting a little wet. But think about when you've finished cleaning the outside windows and you move to the inside of the house. Your customer may have very expensive and nice furniture that is easily soiled, or maybe a beautiful light colored carpet. It can be very difficult to keep a customers home clean when you walk around soaking in dirty water.

Usually the problem comes from the same place, your window cleaning holster. As you go from window to window applying water to your sponge, you might find that as you put your sponge back into your holster it will start to drip over the side. As you walk around the inside of the home you could lean on a furniture piece or bed and cause potential damage.

You can actually apply a few of the following steps to stop yourself from getting to the point to where your making everything you touch filthy and wet. Try working on your window cleaning technique. As you place your window cleaning sponge into your holster make sure you don't lean it against any holster walls, this will cause the dirty soapy water to scrape and drip off the side of your holster. So make sure to insert your window cleaning sponge in a specific up and down motion.

Another solution to your problem in addition to the technique that I mentioned above is to buy yourself a window cleaning splash guard. Now your technique will never be perfect, but that ok because the splash guard will protect you. As the soapy window cleaning water drips from your holster, instead of collecting on your pants or window cleaning shorts it will drip onto the splash guard. Thus protecting you from any contact with window washing soap. Make sure to wipe the guard with a micro fiber ever so often so that it wont collect and start to drip.
