How to Avoid the Annoying Ex. Steps To Take To Protect Yourself

Your ex is driving you insane because they are constantly talking about their life and how much better they are without you.

Well, have you stopped to think that they are doing that because they want you back? They want you in their life because deep down they are not happy without you.

However, you aren't ready to go back or have no desire to go back to that relationship and here are some steps to protect yourself when you have conversations with your ex.

Be pleasant but keep in the back of your mind that you are just showing a "face" so they won't get angry or act up because they think you aren't listening to them.

The opposite of love is not hate. They are both passionate emotions. The opposite of love is indifference. If you show that you are listening but nothing they say will upset you, you will get your point across of the fact that you moved on.

Make sure you aren't answering their text messages or every phone call even if the word "urgent" is used. They are using your time now and it's just as valuable as it was before you got with that person.

If you have children with that person, make sure you are always pleasant and not hostile even though that is your first response to their actions. If you show even a slight emotion, they will know they got under your skin and can continue to do that.

If they are not providing for the children like you think they should, it's best to write a note to them explaining what you want for the children and how you think it can be accomplished. Do not try to argue with the ex about the note. If they are not willing to help accommodate your wishes for your children, then hire an attorney and have them deal with the issue. Your children's welfare is more important than the relationship you have with your ex.

And finally, make sure your emotional state is in order. You do not want your ex to think that there is even a remote chance of getting back with you. The only way to portray that fact is through the indifference showing in your body language or speech when dealing with your ex.

No one likes breakups. There is lost time invested in that relationship that you can never get back. However, that is also growing time that you would not have otherwise gone through. Each relationship has a reason and even though we may not understand at the time what the reason is, it's all part of the "grand plan".

Every day is an adventure and it's best to use understanding, forgiving and loving more in your new life without your ex.
