How to Deal With Anxiety, Gain More Control and Stop Recurring Symptoms
As it stands now, there are over 40 million Americans suffering from some form of panic or anxiety attacks, and the common denominator is the cost -- based entirely on ones lifestyle. Other countries have high numbers of sufferers as well and if you didn't know any better, you might think that some kind of worldwide plague is spreading.

There's a myth circling around anxiety that having an anxiety disorder in some way makes you appear weak or a bad person to others. The truth of the matter is there's not one person that goes through life and doesn't experience some form of fear or feelings of anxiousness at one time or another.
Fact is, it's how a person deals with his/her unrealistic feelings that determine whether or not it's controlling your life. For an increasingly large percentage of society, this relentless contact with anxiety is totally real, and there's no clear indication of how many sufferers go unreported. But what is even more compelling is the fact that a greater number of children and adolescents are becoming susceptible to anxiety and stress.
How the body deals with stress is very important in how a person safeguards themselves from what appear to be threats. In itself, is a measurement of ones chances for survival when engaged with a potentially dangerous event or with danger itself. Depending on the individual, either s/he will take stress by the horn and fight back, or retreat and take flight.
The fight or flight approach is a person's way of reacting to stressful events, even without ever experiencing a traumatic experience in life. These choices or reactions are an instinctive fight for survival with everyday life dealings. So in other words, you flick a switch that either takes the fight or flight approach the minute you come face to face with a potential dangerous circumstance.
Even the smell of danger can trigger an adrenaline rush through your veins, while making your heart beat more and more rapidly. This reaction can make you feel like you're going to faint or become weak. But the strange thing that comes out of this is, your body is actually preparing you for the fight or flight -- try doing some running to offset this sensation.
As for the latter, you just might be amazed at how fast you're able to run! When undergoing the fight or flight phase, you have two choices to make: 1) You can become passive and retreat; 2) Be aggressive and face the danger head on. If you allow yourself to become open to fight or flight circumstances regularly, it can put you in harms way when facing stressful and dangerous conditions. Eventually, this threatens your health.
But understand, this doesn't mean it has to control your life. If you or someone you know has experienced on-going symptoms such as apprehension, concern or fear from a strange situation, take the time now and examine your lifestyle.
