The first symptoms of scabies include itching sensations on the lesser exposed parts of the body. These mites require warm and moist environment to reproduce and therefore are often found between the skin folds. Most people would not experience the rash immediately and it would take several weeks before the body produces allergic reactions towards these mites. After several weeks of infestation, it is almost impossible to recognise the causative agents. The allergic rash caused due to scabies can look like sores, pimples, welts or red welts. The itching also comes along with this rash. For the most part, the inception of scabies can often be mistaken with the other skin conditions such as impetigo, hives or eczema. Since these mites are microscopic in nature, it is impossible to detect their presence with the naked eye. Therefore, the doctors would scalp a part of your skin to confirm the presence of mites or their eggs. The rash is the most discomforting part of the condition. There are quite a few medications available to eliminate the mites. However, the rash or other symptoms would continue to exist until the dead mites or their excretions are removed from the body. You can apply natural medications such as tea tree oil or turmeric in order to alleviate the rash. Warm baths with Epsom salts are also known to be highly effective.
