Bellevue, Washington is home to a number of day adventures that bring the nature to you!
Get Your Sea Legs
If you're itching to get out of your apartment and breathe in the Pacific air, try a cruise from Lake Washington. From the houseboat district to luxury waterfront homes and the Husky Stadium, former home to the NFL's Seahawks - this two-hour cruise is an unforgettable way to experience the best of Seattle. Get the camera out for views of the volcanic Mt. Rainier as the tour cruises Lake Washington.
How Does Your Garden Grow?
For those with a green thumb, and even those that don't, the Bellevue Botanical Gardens is a great way to commune with nature in the middle of the city. The gardens feature 53 acres of display gardens, woodlands, meadows and wetlands and admission is free! Some of the garden's highlights include the Northwest Perennial Alliance Border, Waterwise Garden, Yao Garden, Alpine Rock Garden and summer displays of dahlias and fuchsias.
Picnic in the Park
In the center of the city sits Bellevue Downtown Park. This twenty-acre park features a reflecting pool, rushing waterfall, a canal encircling a green meadow and other hidden gems waiting to be discovered. The park is a great place to spend the day wandering the grounds and taking in the sights; a definite upgrade from spending the day in your apartment watching TV.
Take a Dip!
Newcastle Beach Park is the largest beach in Bellevue and is a perfect day escape from the office. It features miles of beach, perfect for sunbathing or taking a swim and also features at 300-foot dock, a children's play area and a nature trial so adventurous families can take a hike after a nice long swim. The park also features 3 picnic areas and a BBQ so after working up an appetite, you can chow down! The park is open from June through Labor Day in September with a lifeguard always on duty.
