If you live close to where you'll be moving, consider taking a weekend trip to let the kids see the new town, and explore a bit

. You can drive by their new school, play at local parks (maybe even meet some new friends), and have lunch at a local branch of their favorite restaurant. If you live to far to visit in person, help your kids search the Internet for pictures of these places. You could even help them start a scrapbook of places they want to go to first when they arrive. Helping your children think of the move as a fun adventure will go a long way towards relieving their anxiety about relocating.
