How to Revamp Your Wardrobe for Winter
It looks as though the summer months have finally left us and that means it's time
to put away your summer clothes and think about buying a few items to help keep you warm during the colder months of the year.
This isn't always as easy as it sounds though. After all we've all experienced those odd days where the sun comes out and it feels a lot warmer than we initially think. This means it helps to be creative and put together a versatile winter wardrobe that can handle everything the weather decides to throw at us!
So where do you start? Well, a good place is to take a look at any winter clothes you still have from last year. Set a couple of hours aside to go through them and see whether there is anything you can still wear this winter. Some items might fit you perfectly and still be quite fashionable. Other items may no longer fit or be inappropriate to wear if you like keeping up with the latest looks. You can set these aside to be recycled or taken to a local charity shop.
This exercise will reveal which items you need to think about buying for the colder months ahead. Layers are by far the best way to cope with those odd few days that turn out to be warmer than the rest. You can stay warm and still discard a layer while looking good the whole time.
Think about your colour schemes too. Some people naturally look good in certain colours while others prefer to dress according to the latest season's hot trends. Which group do you fall into? Would you rather dress comfortably and wear things you know you look good in? Make the decision before you go shopping and you will feel more confident about your purchases.
Of course there are some classically good looking items that are a staple for every winter we go through. Jumpers and cardigans are essential for every wardrobe, and you will find plenty of options and styles to choose from. If you can select them creatively in order to mix and match them with other items you already have, you will find your winter wardrobe goes a lot further as well.
Take that comfortable pair of jeans for example. Why not team them up with a chunky knitted sweater on the coldest days, and a long sleeved top with a cardigan on cooler days?
Knitwear in all its forms is a great addition to your winter wear, and you will be glad you have lots of different variations to fall back on. Not only will it keep you warm, it will enable you to look and feel good every day as well.
