I hope you know that building muscle can be acheived at home with little or know equipment. I can tell you a majority of the size and strength I attained in my upper body is from pushups. That's right pushups is a great upper body exercise that will define your whole upper body. Here is three variations you can do when performing pushups. You can use a diamond shape stance with your hands which looks just like it sounds form a diamond with your hands or a triangle shape and start to perform pushups on the negative go down slow and explode from the bottom.
Be sure to concentrate on the negative no bouncing make your arms and chest do all the work. This exercise burns like crazy! The next variation is wide stance pushups this targets more of the shoulders and outer chest and the last variation is a normal stance with your hands about shoulder width apart. 2 sets of each variation till failure 2 times a week you are well on your way to developing strength and size to your upper body.
Try to follow this schedule when doing pushups. Day 1 workout Day 2 & 3 rest Then repeat. Once you have master this exercise you can add resistance with a weighted vest or a backpack with weights inside.
