This is a sensor that turns on the system using the day light. As the day dims out towards the evening, the system turns on the lights and vice versa towards the morning. Each home has diverse needs for illumination and therefore a survey is necessary before embarking on any system.

When fixing security lights around the home, start with the wall lights outside. This are fixed on the eaves or on the beams. The level of fixing the lights should be on the beam or eaves on the ground floor. When a light is to use a sensor it should be located on the roof level. This will give a larger area to be illuminated. The garden security lights should be located in open spaces. They should not have any hedge or shrub obstructing because of the arising shadows.

When fixing gate security lights, two systems are used. There should be two fixed on the columns supporting the gate. This can be on through the night. Another set is mounted higher but connected to motion sensor. This are turned on when a car or anything moves towards the gate from inside or outside. This are brighter and more powerful. Along the boundary wall, similar lights as the gate permanent ones are installed. This are also backed up with a flood light connected to a motion detector around the wall.
