If you are thinking of starting an MLM business here is how to make it work:
First let's talk about what doesn't work. Many people do not have the support or mentoring to even have any idea of what they are doing. They quickly get on the phone and start calling a list of 10-20 people and telling them all about their new business that they have started. Then they ask them to come to a presentation. After a few calls they realize that this more difficult than they expected. The research says that the average network marketer doing this will quit after around 3 months.
The first decision someone needs to make is to go pro. What I mean by that is that your MLM business needs to be treated like a real business, because that is what it is. Treating it like a hobby is going to get hobby results. When I took a look at my hobbies, none of them ever made me any money. They sure cost me a lot though. An MLM business has a plan, goals and objectives and its own phone. Your MLM business must have daily business building activities.
The key to making your MLM business work is the key that makes anything else work and that is mentoring. All superstars have a mentor or a coach, it doesn't matter how good they are. A new person must have the training and support from someone who has already had success in an MLM business, and can tell them if what they are doing is the right thing to keep them on track to be successful. You would need to do exactly what they tell you to do even if it sounds crazy. I recently watched the Karate Kid and this example fits that movie perfectly. Mr. Miagi told Daniel he was going to teach him Karate. The first day of training he had Daniel wash and wax his car, then he had him paint his fence, paint his house and sand the floor. He rarely questioned Mr. Miagi, he just did what his teacher said to do even though it did not make sense to him. Daniel wanted to know when he was going to learn Karate not realizing that he had been learning it all along. When he finally "got it" he no longer needed Mr. Miagi.
Many people start a network marketing company and they still have a job mind set. They are going to have to change that. This is not easy when some people have had it for several years. You must become a student again and soak up as much knowledge from the experts as you can. You have to do the things that your mentor asks you to do even though it may be uncomfortable.
You also can not put an expiration date on your MLM business success.
You have to do it until its done.
So find someone who is having the kind of success that you want, and just do what they tell you to do.
